When the Org lost the Candace Conti case, the court ordered (pending the appeal) that the Org would have to deposit several million$ as security. The puzzling thing is, the Org got a Bond Company to put up the millions, thereby incurring heavy interest charges. I've always wondered, 'Why?????????'. Donations, are just that - donations!! They are not guaranteed. However, if fluctuating donations suddenly become a guaranteed income via pledges, then doesn't that give the Org a very powerful hand if/when they want or need to negotiate finance for expansion of their Real Estate empire - or pedophile payouts? The finance boys at Brooklyn have it all neatly tied up, and are planning for the long-term, I think! The sheep will be used as security for the future 'mortgages' of the Org!!

Let me see..............Rev. 14:1 says they're identified as being part of God and Christ's "family"; v 2,3 says they sing a new song and play harps; v 4,5 says they are 'virgins' who follow the Lamb wherever he goes (they don't share kingship with him) and they are not liars!
Nope, I didn't see any thrones, kings, priests or judges mentioned there!!!
Maybe the Apostle John simply got things wrong as he was writing them down - the same way that Luke was mistaken in chapter 22 when he recorded that Judas was present when Christ handed out the bread & wine for the New Covenant! (it-2 p. 130Judas - Luke’s presentation of this incident evidently is not in strict chronological order, for Judas had definitely left by the time Christ commended the group for having stuck with him)

144000 Literal or Figurative?
by why144000 inthe speaker at the memorial tonight stated straight up that the 144,000 is a literal number as we will stop celebrating the memorial when jesus 'arrives' and takes the few remnant with him.
how can the society change the 144,000 to figurative without blowing themselves out of the water?.

Looking for BOE letter regarding DF'd at memorial
by Dutchdelight inlast year i decided to attend the memorial.
i came in last minute and ended up sitting at the end of the row.
when the symbols were passed out they skipped me and gave to the person next to me.

Factual, false, or phenomenon?
by stillin inthis strikes me as strange.
in the last few years i have met four newly associated, and in a couple of cases baptized, brothers in the congregations who say that they did long stints in secret branches of the military and that they were behind the lines, "wet work" operatives.
i might have considered it exceptional that one person who served in such a capacity would even go to church, let alone join up with the likes of jehovah's witnesses.

OK EMETH - Give up Field Service, because you're EXPECTED to defend your GB - given teachings.
Even the Bible commands you to be ready to justify and defend what you believe - 1 Peter 3:15, but of course, 'Mother' in Brooklyn tells us to avoid talking to anyone who who just might impart knowledge of Scriptures which expose them.

Hi EMETH - You can try and justify the Org's money-making scams all you like, but your deafening silence and refusal to answer the Bible I put to you is indefensible, and identical to the reaction of my own Elders, a close friend and his wife, AND Patterson, who all resolutely refuse to use the Bible to answer their false teachings.
You are obeying MEN, rather than GOD- the Watchtower is superior to the Bible in the Witness minds.
Accept the real truth of your convictions, and think about what you are trying to teach your gullible Bible studies!

My wife (ex-pioneer) calmly looked at the Scriptural evidence which PROVED that the the Org was not "directly inspired by God", and in fact, proved they were spouting lies to create and preserve the hierarchy at Brooklyn as a money-making machine. Now she is really "tuned in" to the overtly corrupt propaganda in the Study Watchtowers - the ONLY publication we both read now!
Her main concern is that she could lose her family, one of whom is an elder. So it's a case of gently, gently fading before we implement the final part of our exit. In the meantime, no contributions, no acceptance of "privileges", and questionable monthly reports - which no one has the guts to question so far!
I can only hope that my prediction of large numbers being distressed/bewildered by the letters from Branch, but especially the Annual Meeting shocks in October this year, will include your wife! Best wishes for her.
I reckon the G.B. have been priming the sheep since the July 15 2012 Study Watchower, and now it's time to round them up, fleece them, and deal severely with those who resist/refuse to be fleeced!
I genuinely fear for all those whom I care about who are walking into something willingly with their eyes wide open, but their minds totally closed!!
I now realise that THEY have to make the first move to learn TTATT, because anything I say just sounds like "apostasy".
